I will be available to you for text or calls with any questions you may have through your pregnancy. I want my clients to feel cared for and able to communicate and ask for help just as a close friend would. As your get closer to your due date, we will schedule a time for a "birth run through", which simply means we will try some comfort measures and techniques to figure out what may be the most helpful for you during labor. During this appointment, I will also help you put together a birth plan. I will be on call for 2 weeks before your estimated due date until 2 weeks after your due date, as labor rarely occurs right on your due date. I will be available to you for any and all needs for you and your partner throughout labor and delivery. The goal is to keep you as relaxed and comfortable as possible so your labor can progress the way it is intended to. I will also use essential oils for massage and pain relief, if that is something the mother wants. Once the baby is born, I will stay with you for a bit to make sure you and baby are stable and doing well. Once you and your new family are home and settled, I will come by for a follow up appointment and I always bring a special treat!

From time to time, there are cases where a couple may not want or be able to have a doula present for the birth. In those cases, I will meet with the couple to teach the partner a few comfort techniques and coaching techniques to most effectively support the mother throughout her labor and delivery process.

What essential oils are essential for your pregnancy

The quality of essential oil used is very important, which I why I use the same oils on my clients that I use on my family. The oils can be used for emotional support and relaxation throughout labor as well as physical support to bring relief and help labor continue to progress, and help with a quicker recovery after birth.

Here are a few that I use frequently during labor for my clients:

Lavender, Stress Away, and Peace and Calming are perfect for keeping you relaxed, grounded and focused throughout your labor. They also help calm the nerves of anyone else in the room. I use these for massage as well as in a diffuser for a calming atmosphere.

Clary Sage, Jasmine, Geranium, and Basil oils can help keep labor progressing and make contractions more effective.

Deep Relief, Panaway, Peppermint and Copiaba oils can help bring relief to tired and sore muscles during labor.

Peppermint is also effective at soothing any nausea that may occur during labor.

Since 2014, I have been practicing as a labor and delivery birth doula. I am passionate about women being empowered to do what they were created for on any platform and that includes childbirth. When I had my first child, I utilized the services of a doula and had a beautiful experience. My doula made me feel fully supported throughout my pregnancy and delivery. In addition to that, my doula and midwife enabled me to gain the strength and freedom during labor and delivery that allowed me to have the kind of birth I envisioned. Having the endless support from my doula, sparked a passion in me to help other women feel the same level of support and empowerment in their journey of bringing a new life into this world. I have two children, Ariela and Jace, that I adore, love spending time with, and seeing each new phase in their lives. I am a passionate doula and mother and do both at 100%! I've been an avid and competitive martial artist since 1997, and earned my black belt soon after. In my spare time you will find me and my kids at the Taekwondo School freshening up on our skills.

Why the butterflies?

Butterflies are dear to my heart and not just because they are beautiful but also because they represent new life. Caterpillars don't just morph into a butterfly, they actually dissolve and become an entirely new creature. A creature that can now fly! I think that is a beautiful representation for many seasons in a woman's life as well as a perfect picture of the new beginning of life for you and your baby.
